Develop long-term business success for consumer products in South Korea

Major Responsibilities

• Bottom line responsibility (financial & operational) for the NBA’s global & local licensing business (such as socks, watches, sporting apparel, credit card, etc) in South Korea to include:
• Review & track progress of each licensee on a timely basis
• Implement and monitor marketing and distribution guidelines in each market
• Initiate collaborative efforts between manufacturing and distribution licensees to maximize opportunities
• Conduct timely licensee review meetings and market visits to monitor and help grow licensee’s business
• Establishing and building alliances with key retailers & operators (e.g., Lotte, E-Mart etc.)
• Develop self sourcing promotional premiums business for Marketing Partners & other strategic promotional opportunities
• Identify potential licensing partners in new categories (e.g., bags, stationery, personal care, fragrance, food & beverages, e-commerce, etc.)
• Explore NBA Store concepts with potential partners
• Manage day-to-day local communications with key global licensing partners adidas, EA, Spalding, Take 2, etc at direction of NBA Asia & NY
• Manage & where appropriate initiate appropriate activations or opportunities for key partners including EA, Spalding, adidas and Take 2, to fulfill their NBA Marketing or Event commitments through NBA assets – event, media, TV, premiums.

In addition, for selected other marketing partners other than those mentioned above:
• Manage local activation process, including promotional and licensed premiums development, media planning, advertising creation and approval, grassroots program planning and event coordination
• Oversee the fulfillment of partners\' contractual benefits including event sponsorship, promotional obligations and media
• Develop strong, respectful relationships and build credibility with partners
• Coordinate with regional & global account teams on the management and fulfillment of each global partner\'s activation and benefits in South Korea

In all areas:
• Maintain effective working relationships with key NBA constituencies including Events, Media, Public Relations, Legal, and other Global Merchandising Group and Marketing Partnerships management and staff in NY HQ and throughout the region

Required Skills/Knowledge
• Fluent in Korean and English.
• Legally allowed to work in Korea
• Relationship builder; effective client management skills
• Understanding of Korea business landscape with regards to retail, media, manufacturing, & distribution


Experience Needed
• At least 5 years in consumer products/ licensing
• Grassroots/ Events experience strongly preferred

Educational Background Required
• Bachelor’s degree required
